Welcome for newly appointed professors
Orientation program for new professors
The University of Cologne (UoC) and the University Hospital Cologne (UKK) offer introductory events for new academic staff, including new professors, to provide information on the specifics of research, teaching and administration.
As part of these information sessions, the Cologne Faculty of Medicine hosts a "Welcome Coffee" specifically for its newly appointed professors. Due to the close connection between the Faculty of Medicine and the University Hospital Cologne and the associated integration of administrative structures, newly appointed professors at the Faculty of Medicine gain individual insight into the most important services and offerings and get to know key contacts. There is also an opportunity for dialogue and networking.

- provides initial orientation and an overview of important information and services offered by the University of Cologne
- The University of Cologne´s Human Resources Development department will send the link and login details for this e-learning course in a welcome email during your first week of work.
Welcome event ‘Welcome & Connect’
- face-to-face event for getting to know each other personally and getting the chance to network
- takes place once per quarter

- monthly welcome event for all new employees (academic and non-academic staff, including newly appointed professors)
