Link pages
When linking to a page, make sure that it is linked as "dynamically" as possible. This means that you do not enter a fixed link in the mask, such as https://medfak.uni-koeln.de/internationales. Instead, the page should be selected in the page tree. If the link of a page linked in this way changes (e.g. from https://medfak.uni-koeln.de/internationales to https://medfak.uni-koeln.de/international), Typo automatically adjusts the link. The link does not lead to nowhere, but continues to lead to the page.
If a page is linked as an "External URL", this is not possible. If the address of the page then changes, the link does not change. It leads nowhere, often an error message "404" appears.
The page can only be selected in the page tree if you are authorized to edit this page. Otherwise, the link must unfortunately be created as an "External URL", with the risk that the link could change at some point and no longer work.
You can find more detailed instructions here on the website of the Regional Computer Center of the university.
Step-by-step instructions
Step 3
Click on the page to be linked in the page tree. If necessary, use the search function. Then click on the "Link to ..." button to create the link. The window closes and the link is successfully dynamically linked.
If your target page is not displayed here, you may not be authorized for the target page in Typo3. In this case, you must link the page as an "External URL".
Alternatively: Step 4
If you cannot find the page in the page tree or if it is not a page of the Faculty of Medicine, add the link as an external URL. If the link to this page changes later, the link will no longer work.
Switch to the "External URL" tab and add the target address after "URL". Finally, select "Set link" to insert the link.
