Sustainability at the faculty
The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Cologne is actively committed to sustainable development and organization. We aim to reduce our ecological footprint, take social responsibility, and create future-proof structures.
In May 2022, the sustainability working group was founded by committed members from all areas of the faculty. The working group actively focuses on promoting sustainability in research and teaching. To this end, various subteams were established, each working on specific aspects of sustainability and thus achieving concrete progress.
With the expansion of the Vice Dean's Office for Critical Infrastructures to include the important topic of sustainability, the faculty has also created a central interface. This directly links the sustainability working group with the Sustainability Office of the University of Cologne and the Sustainability Office of the University Hospital. This allows us to combine our efforts effectively and ensure a unified approach toward shaping a sustainable future together.
