Colorful oases on the Life Science Campus

Wild meadows

Our campus is blooming and buzzing: the Faculty of Medicine has a special focus on protecting and supporting wild bees, which have found a home here.

In cooperation with BUND e. V., the university hospital's gardening department, and the Sustainability Office, the first measures have already been implemented. A photographer from BUND e. V. has documented the wild bee species currently present on the site. In addition, areas were jointly identified for planting insect-friendly food plants in the future. The first plantings have already taken place.

The long-term aim is to create colorful oases across the campus - places that not only provide habitats for insects, but also invite discovery and learning through informative signs.
