Ladies and Gentlemen,

This year, applications for foundation funds (Bering-, Gilen-, Hochhaus-, Imhoff-, Hack-, Pesch-, Nolting-Stiftung) can be submitted until 02.04.2026 exclusively in digital form to the Vice Dean's Office for Science & Transfer(thorsten.hensler(at)uk-koeln(dot)de).

The call for applications is subject to the allocation of funds by the Rectorate of the University. Clinic directors and institute directors are requested to refrain from submitting an application in order to give priority to junior researchers.

Please be sure to indicate on the cover sheet which subject area you are applying for. Application volumes in the subject area of microbiology and "other" should not exceed €10,000.

The Research Advisory Board will decide on the individual applications based on their quality and generate a list of proposals. This proposal list requires the approval of the Departmental Council and will be forwarded to the relevant foundations for the release of funds.
