Seed funding for joint research projects with the German Sport University Cologne
The preparation of a joint third-party funding application (e.g. to the DFG) can be applied for by a tandem consisting of one early-career researcher from DSHS and one from MF as part of the internal research funding programmes Köln Fortune (MF) and HIFF3 (DSHS).
Applications must be submitted to both our faculty and the DSHS by 9 September 2026 at the latest in accordance with the respective guidelines, whereby the content of the project applications can be used in both applications. The added value resulting from the cooperation must be clearly stated in the application. The selection process will be coordinated between the two institutions.
The following funding conditions apply to the MF: Physicians and PostDocs who have at least one original publication on a relevant topic and do not hold a professorship are eligible to apply. Personnel costs or costs for the temporary position of the principle investigator (up to 50%) can be funded for up to 12 months. In addition, consumables up to €15,000 can be applied for.
