Students at our partner universities must first consult the coordinator at their home university, as is required for 1- or 2-semester terms abroad. The coordinator also has to nominate you for a traineeship (PJ or Famulatur). We cannot consider applications made in any other way.


Applications from students from non-partner universities cannot be accepted.


The application deadlines for traineeship visits (PJ and Famulatur) are the same as those for study visits as terms abroad (Semesteraufenthalte):

15th December for the next summer semester (April – September)
15th June for the next winter semester (October – March)

All nominated applicants (EU and non-EU) should send the following documents by email to ZIB Med.

  • current CV - please ONLY in English or German
  • Training Agreement EU or non-EU – signed / stamped by their home university
  • Health certificate. Please read also the following important information!
  • ZIB Med personal details form (please paste recent ID photo at provided place as a file)
  • Proof of health insurance (e.g. EHIC card). Recommended: personal liability insurance
  • current Transcript of Records
  • Evidence of knowledge of the German language (min. level B1.1 according to Common European Framework of Reference, CEFR). Required level for Gynecology, Pediatrics, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Radiology/Diagnostic Imaging, and Forensic Medicine is at level B2.1  and C1.1 for Psychiatry.   • Copy of your passport or identity card

We can only proceed with organising your placement when all your documents have been received at ZIB Med.
