In 2020, the Faculty of Medicine extended its research funding support. The aim is to provide optimal support and advice to all scientists at the Faculty when applying for third-party funded projects - from the initial idea to project kick-off.

The Research Funding Support provides support in the individual search for funding programs and advises which funding program suites the planned project best as well as on the formal requirements of the individual funding guidelines. In addition, the Research Funding Support assists with internal coordination processes and the preparation of on-site evaluations of large collaborative projects.

Calls for research grant proposals and scientific awards from national and European funding bodies relevant to the Faculty are bundled on the website of the Research Funding Support and, if applicable, made available together with information on internal pre-selection procedures.

The Research Funding Support closely cooperates with the Department 7 Research Management of the University of Cologne.
