First activity of the DAAD-funded project “CASE G” in 2020
From October 5th to 7th, 2020 the workshop "Curriculum Development" took place under the direction of Dr. Christoph Stosch and PD Dr. Jan Matthes. Together with the project partners of the University of Dschang, Cameroon and the Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar, Senegal, the foundation stone has been laid and the first project activity was implemented within the framework of the DAAD-funded CASE G project.
Originally, the workshop would have been taken place on the campus of the Medical Faculty in Cologne and, in addition to the professional exchange, also included a cultural program for the African guests. Due to corona pandemic, the format had to be adjusted so that the workshop took place digitally via ZOOM.
First concerns regarding the feasibility of a digital workshop were quickly dispelled due to the professionalism and exemplary commitment of all participants, especially the partners from Dschang and Dakar.
As a basis for the desired accreditation process for the medical curriculum of the University of Dschang, the participants of the medical faculty, under the direction of Dean Prof. Siemeon Pierre Choukem, were able to expand their specialist knowledge in curriculum development and gained experiences with guest speakers from Kaohsiung Medical University, Taiwan and experts from Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar, Senegal.
Further ongoing project activities are planned for 2021, which will hopefully take place as planned on site in Cologne and Dschang.
The project manager Ms. Fabienne Schneider will be happy to provide you with further information.
