The University of Cologne continuously develops its structures and processes in knowledge and technology transfer. An important part of this is the qualification of interested academics in the areas of knowledge and technology transfer as well as innovation and entrepreneurship as a contribution to the creation of a culture of innovation at the University of Cologne.
Against this background, the Gateway Excellence Start-up Centre (ESC) of the University of Cologne offers a range of further training and qualification events in addition to other support services. Within this framework, a seminar series designed by Atrineo AG consisting of three online qualification events and one face-to-face workshop is to be offered to the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Cologne.
Seminar 1 - September 13th, 9 a.m – 11 a.m.: Two-hour online seminar on the topic of "Identifying fields of application and addressing target groups in Science".
Seminar 2 - September 16th, 9 a.m – 11 a.m.: Two-hour online seminar on the topic of "Identifying and transparently presenting market potential".
Seminar 3 - September 22nd, 9 a.m – 11 a.m.: Two-hour online seminar on the topic of "Founding process: foundation, team, financing and company structure".

This course is a free training opportunity designed for scientists to trial and prepare any kind of commercial or social ventures based on their research. Solve important problems by transforming research into solutions!
In this course, you will learn about methodologies on how to transfer your ideas into practical solutions for industry, medicine and society. Methods comprise among others market research, customer identification. In exchange with colleagues and experts you will get a feeling about success factors for innovation and entrepreneurship from science. Particularly in the workshop, you will work in groups on case studies or your own ideas from daily research. You will learn how to identify and evaluate a promising idea, how to develop the idea towards an innovation project or even a start-up and how to present it via a pitch. As a participant, you are very welcome to bring in your own innovation case or idea from research.
