The IT Coordination for Research and Teaching is a functional unit of the Medical Faculty and acts as an interface between the IT of the University Hospital Cologne (uk-it) and the IT of the University of Cologne (Regional Computer Centre Cologne/RRZK). Analogous to the digitization strategy of the University of Cologne, the Medical Faculty is expanding professional structures in a user-oriented way. The IT Coordination acts as a contact for employees in research and teaching.

-migrations of decentralized and heterogeneous IT structures into central services of the uk-IT
-Implementation of the EU Data Protection Basic Regulation (EU-DSGVO) in the field of research and teaching
"-Generic IT Security Concepts (TMF-funded project within the framework of the Medical Informatics Initiative)
-Introduction of a web-based electronic laboratory system (ELN)
-Introduction of a research information system
-Establishment of a research data management system
-IT infrastructure planning for new research and teaching buildings
