The general recruitment requirements for professorships in NRW can be found under § 36 of the Higher Education Act of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (please note that legislative texts can only be provided in German).
The specific requirements of the individual professorships can be found in the respective announcement text. The selection procedure is based on the appointment regulations of the University of Cologne.

Information about the online training
Appointment committees are central to the strategic direction of the faculty and university. They are instrumental in determining which professors will shape teaching and research and the culture of leadership and collaboration for years and decades to come. Serving on appointment committees presents challenges to staff members - especially those contributing for the first time. It is important to understand the regulations and the basic structure of the commission work as well as to know important aspects for the implementation of equal opportunities, which at the same time promote the "best selection".
For this purpose, the Associate Dean's Office for Academic Development and Gender, with the support of the Faculty Appointment Management and in collaboration with MedizinFoto Köln, has developed an online training course "How to..."
