Enrolment at Cologne University / German Language Courses

In order to study at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Cologne, you must enrol as a short-term student at the University of Cologne.

The University of Cologne does not charge tuition fees. However, students (study visits) must pay a social contribution of approximately 320 € per semester. This social fee includes a ticket for public transport throughout North Rhine-Westphalia, student services, student sports, reduced prices at the mensa and insurance against accidents on campus.

Last-year students can choose if they want to enrol.

Enrolled students have the opportunity to take part in free German language courses at the University of Cologne.
