Clinical training as final-year student (Praktisches Jahr, PJ)

Foreign students (EU and non-EU) who have reached the final year of their degree can complete part of their clinical training year (Praktisches Jahr, PJ) here in Cologne.

Students who are still in the middle of their degree can come here for the short-term clinical training (known as Famulatur).

In this section, these two placements are simply referred to as "traineeships".

The minimum length of stay in a department is 4 weeks.

Nomination deadlines:

01 December for the following summer semester (April - September)
01 June  for the following winter semester (October - March)

ZIB Med is responsible for exchange students who have been nominated by a partner university of the Faculty of Medicine for a practical stay with us. Applicants from non-partner universities (= freemover) please contact the desired clinic directly with their request.
