Faculty Council of the Faculty of Medicine
Function & Responsibilities
The Faculty Council together with the deanship, form the bodies of the Faculty of Medicine. The members of the Faculty Council and the members of the group of university lecturers form the Further Faculty. The Further Faculty advises and makes recommendations to the Faculty Council and the deanship on matters of teaching and research.
The Faculty Council of the Faculty of Medicine is responsible for the matters listed below:
Approval of the deanship's statement on the cooperation agreement with the University Hospital,
Resolution on the faculty regulations and other faculty regulations as well as on the contribution to the management report of the University Hospital,
Statement on the development plan of the Faculty of Medicine and on the principles for the distribution and use of state funds, including the criteria for the performance-oriented distribution of funds,
Passing resolutions on matters incumbent on the Faculty of Medicine in appointment procedures, the awarding of the title "Adjunct Professor" and "Honorary Professor" as well as habilitations and honorary doctorates,
recommendations and statements on other matters of fundamental importance to the Faculty of Medicine,
Election of the members of the deanship.
Members of the Faculty Council
The Facultiy Council consists of the following members:
Members without voting rights
the dean as chairperson,
the other members of the deanship.
Members with voting rights
nine members from the group of university lecturers, two each from the sub-disciplines of pre-clinical medicine, surgical medicine, conservative medicine and clinical-theoretical medicine including central facilities, one representative from the field of dentistry,
two members from the group of academic staff and
three members from the group of students.
The voting members of the Facultiy Council are determined by election. The term of office for voting members from the group of students is one year, and two years for members from the groups of university lecturers and academic staff.
The deputies of the members of the Facultiy Council are determined by the ranking of the election results. The deputy has all the rights and obligations of a member if he or she represents the elected member in the event of absence.
