  • Time and willingness to write a DFG grant proposal within the next 6 month
  • Time and willingness to take part in all sessions, read the proposal of two peers and to discuss your proposal within a small peer group.

Workshop concept: The kick-off workshop will give guidance on which funding program is the most suitable for you. In addition, you will receive an introduction into the DFG funding principles, proposal structure, requirements and the evaluation procedure. Prof. Björn Schumacher, member of the DFG Review Board and successful DFG grantee will give insight into the decision making process and the do's and don'ts of proposal writing.

A one-day workshop on how to develop aim, objectives and work program by an experienced external trainer will be followed by 3 writing sessions á 3 hours. The writing sessions will start with a 20 minute input session on specific proposal sections including (1) sustainability, (2) choice of modules & budget and (3) research data management & CV template followed by writing time that is used for the preparation of the central parts of the proposals. The trainer will be available for individual questions regarding the writing process and the different sections of the proposal.

For the Peer-Feedback sessions you will be assigned in peer feedback groups (2-3 participants). The trainer will make sure that the group members will submit their proposal in a different DFG Review Board. During the Peer-feedback session, you will receive individual feedback on your grant proposal from two peers and the trainer.

Please note that there is no participant limit for the kick-off workshop. There are 10 places available for the workshop 'Development of Aim, Objectives and work program' and all subsequent sessions. If there are more registrations than places, the places will be drawn by lot.
