On this page you will find information about the key qualification courses at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Cologne. In the courses you can learn interdisciplinary, science-oriented skills and abilities. You must complete at least one key qualification course as part of your doctorate.

External courses, i.e. courses that are not offered by the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Cologne, can only be recognized as a key qualification course if they are at least 14 hours long (including preparation/term paper/post-processing) and include a performance record (term paper, e-exam or similar). If you have any questions regarding the recognition of external courses, please contact Dr. Sören Moritz.

 

Registration information

You can register for the courses via KLIPS 2.0, where you will find the key qualification courses under "Search" -> "Courses" -> Enter search term: "SCHLÜSSELQUALIFIKATIONSKURS" (key qualification course)

Depending on whether the course dates are before or after the regular semester times, registration for the key qualification courses of the Faculty of Medicine takes place either,

(1) before the regular semester periods from 02.09.24

(2) after the regular semester periods from 09.01.25.

Please find out in which of the two periods your desired course falls. If registration in KLIPS 2.0 is not technically possible, please contact the lecturers of the courses directly.
