Overview of the Graduate School

The Graduate School of Human and Dental Medicine comprises two module strands - preparatory modules for doctoral studies and compulsory modules for doctoral studies

Preparatory modules for the doctoral program:

Basic module - Lectures on basic concepts of scientific work, scientific ethics (research on humans) and good scientific practice/scientific misconduct

Exposé - preparation of a project outline of the planned research project

Compulsory modules for the doctoral program:

Key qualification module - further training in an interdisciplinary key qualification. The overview of key qualification courses at the University of Cologne and further information on the module can be found here.

Presentation - report on your own project in the presence of your formal supervisor (doctoral supervisor)

As proof for writing the exposé and giving the presentation are the forms (see download area), the originals of which remain with you. The certificates of achievement for the modules will be recorded in Docfile.

Each doctoral candidate should be able to conclude a supervision agreement within this framework.
